Christina Batrouni

Christina Batrouni is a 24 year old Lebanese artist living in Beirut. She attained her BA in English Literature from the American University of Beirut in 2018, and has been working independently since. Batrouni published her first novel, Notes from The Wrecked, in June 2019. She currently writes and reports for Watchdogs Gazette, and was recently published in Crayon Magazine and Burnerz Clubz’ issues. The artist also has a significant background in filmmaking and visual arts, of which she acquired while studying at the university. Two of her short films have been exhibited and she has been working on her photography portfolio since.

In her work, Batrouni wishes to convey a message of liveliness and continuity; an escape from stillness through simplicity. She works to capture people around her emotional states and significant moments through her documentation. The work is personal and aligns loved ones from her life with her journal notes and chaotic paint.
